Stewardship & Finance
...Our stewardship is, therefore, a stewardship of all that belongs to
God-- animate and inanimate. We are stewards most intimately of our own
lives and the way we live, particularly the way we utilize our money,
our time, and our skills. The psalmist suggests a proper way of living
for stewards mindful of the Maker of all things. The Scriptures call us
from our pride and self-assurance to a life of joyful celebration and
worship of the one who made us and the earth. We share the created
order with everything that belongs to God. Our worship reminds us
liturgically of whose we are and what belongs to God. We give thanks
and celebrate the rich abundance of life on earth with offerings of
thanksgiving—monetary and verbal. We thus give substance and voice to
our promises to proclaim God’s love and to work for God’s justice from
one Lord’s Day to the next, until God’s will is done on earth as it is
in heaven.
